HEARTH at the Healthy Buildings Network (HBN) annual Showcase Event

The Healthy Buildings Network (HBN) hosted its annual Showcase Event on 2 July 2026 at University House, University of Leeds. Centred on the theme "Showcasing Interdisciplinary Research for Healthier Buildings," the event brought together leading researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to celebrate funded project outcomes and shape the future direction of healthy building science.

Professor Rajat Gupta represented the HEARTH Hub across two major sessions:  

• Hub lightning talk: Professor Gupta delivered a network lightning presentation outlining HEARTH’s research vision, ongoing work, and collaborative framework for developing climate-resilient, healthy, and net-zero buildings.  

• Expert panel discussion: Featured as a panelist in the interactive session "Top Questions in the Future of Healthy Building Research," Professor Gupta joined leaders from six other UK research networks to debate priority topics including health equity, bridging the research-to-practice translation gap, and balancing energy efficiency with indoor heat resilience.
